Dr. ARod is an Atlanta-based dentist who has a love for all things cycling. In the early 2000's he was into competitive cycling, and now, as a dentist that is interested in bicycles, he collects all things related to Team Crest. In his spare time, Dr. ARod is also a part-time sculptor, working mainly in bicycle-themed kinetic works. He currently has public works on display in 4 different cities.
Decades ago, Dr. ARod competed at the collegiate level in mountain biking. He mainly did cross country racing, but occasional downhill and dual slalom events as well.
In his college years, including while in dental school, Dr. ARod trained and raced for the University of Florida's Team Florida Cycling, and was even president of the team for a year. The team competed against other schools in the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference in mountain biking, road cycling, and track, and it was on the track that Dr. ARod had his biggest success.
As a track cyclist (i.e. racing on a velodrome), Dr. ARod raced as a "Cat 3", and competed at US Collegiate Nationals several times. He won several medals in team events (Italian Pursuit). And his best individual result was a 7th place in the Kilo at the 2002 Collegiate National Championships.
Dr. ARod also won a Florida state championship in the Keirin (c. 2002). Nowadays he's fat and slow and commutes on an eBike...
